MEMORIAL PARK IRRIGATION STUDY
Stanley Design Group along with FMG Engineering developed an Irrigation Report that investigated the potential of utilizing water from Rapid Creek to reduce the amount of potable water used for irrigation at Memorial Park, the Civic Center, Central High School, and the Journey Museum. Our design team recommended that Memorial Pond be utilized as an irrigation holding pond and irrigation water pumped out of the lake daily. The lake would then be recharged during the daily flow from Rapid Creek. A large transmission main would be installed in Memorial Park to take water to Central High School, the Journey Museum, and the Civic Center. Ultimately, Public Works decided to not proceed with installing the pumping station. However, the large transmission main was installed in Memorial Park for future utilization.
